Moyo is pretty and free

 

I stumbled upon Moyo, a free online magazine on The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design, and … wow! Moyo is the Japanese word for pattern, so that gave me a good vibe straight away: the Japanese are masters on the matter! The pages are full of creative people,  tips and tricks regarding how to do it, but also how to become a professional. The leads are for the UK mostly, but it will give direction to your thinking.  There’s also a monthly brief, and a few articles on must sees in European cities. Just be aware of some lay-out induced dizziness towards page 70… [maybe I shouldn’t have read a whole Moyo in one…
