Art in the dark

Trans Lumen

Andrea Droës – De la Reijstraat 26 and 28a

Last night the Museum Without Walls opened the outdoor show of light art TransLumen. Throughout the neighborhood Transvaal, part of Amsterdam Oost-Watergraafsmeer more than 20 artists working with light show their work, in shop windows, on squares, in a pedestrian tunnel, in windows of residents and I saw one hidden in a tree.

Here’s an impression.

Beautiful small poetry I found in the work of Bert Vredegoor. Two neon signs called Sorrow and Solace (Smart and Troost) are placed in a passage to the Danie Theronstraat, opposite of each other; Sorrow on street level and Solace on the first floor behind the office windows of the local community centre. The picture of Sorrow reflects the red sign of Solace far away in the back…

The show continues this weekend, get your map at the project info centre, Pretoriusstraat 69.

Downloading the images I noticed my own ‘light art’: an artist impression of the pub called The Sun 😉
