Monday morning in September

On our way to school yesterday morning. A Monday Morning. Not easy getting to this point, in time: The Franckendael Park close to school, and we’re all dressed, my son’s backpack packed and we’re on our bikes. Hallelujah, The Counterforce overcome, everything in order 😉

On my way back I took this picture. Familiar but amazing work by two busy little creatures*. Exposed by dew in an early morning sunlight it kickstarted my week and I got going! things to do! social life to catch up! bedroom to redecorate! blog to reinvent! and work on my web.

*) I am always in awe when confronted with the mathematics and order of nature, and find it reassuring that underneath apparent mess and randomness there is a masterplan.

Mediamatic in Amsterdam is doing a show on Ernst Haeckel’s Kunstformen der Natur. Interesting stuff! (open 6 Sept – 30 Oct Wed-Sun)

Also amazing, this infographic taken from the newspaper. It’s the ebola virus. Scary!

As biodiversity is ever-more threatened, these exquisite images are a scientific, artistic, and environmental masterwork

  1. Ayesha says:

Love the resemblance between the shape of the web (on the left) and the graphical representation of gravitational force in a black hole. In this light, what makes form and function dance around each other during the process of creation? Might it be a matter of gravitational force that makes one put the dinner table a little closer to the stove? Thank you for this picture, something to ponder on for the week!

  2. Thank you for you comment Ayesha, giving me something to think about too!
