First green

The first green I saw today

On the tree across the canal I noticed a touch of green. The willow is awakening, wearing a veil of first green, ever so slightly.

This color I found in a painter’s water color almanac, made by hand back in 1692. This treaty of colors is kept in the library Méjanne in Aix en Provence and contains a great amount of colors and their formula. The thing Pantone started doing only in 1962. 270 years in between. {Funny how the numbers are the same..}
