Christmas time. Time to reflect.
I found the image above in my archive. Work I made, a polaroid I took going down to the tube station in New York City, back in 1996. It’s part of a series I did the week I spent in New York with a friend. Instead of normal pictures I took polaroids. I had the camera ready walking the streets and when I saw this it reminded me of something that connected, with me, New York City and the poodle:
The first time I visited New York City, in 1991, I had a nightmare involving my parents living in a world ruled by King Poodles.
I woke up disturbed and tried to explain the terror I felt to my friends in the room. But I failed. They have since teased me with poodles.
Much later I made this design for a label for the BLOOW shop in which I show and sell prints, stuff I make, like the polaroid above.
